This project is based on the EU-accepted concept of two-diploma education (Double Degree Curriculum Act, EU Reg Code # JX54007, 2005) and has no precedent in the practice of higher medical education in the Russian Federation.

The aim of the project of the International Medical School is to create a mechanism for accessing the standards and novelties of European education, promptly assessing these data and, if necessary, integrating them into the Russian education system in the shortest possible time.

Today, the educational program of the Pirogov Medical University in general medicine is coordinated (credits, hours, workload for students and teachers) with the program of the University of Milan, as well as the University of Perugia, and a bachelor degree program in biology is coordinated with the University of Turin.

Currently, the process of coordination of educational programs with the University of Tor Vergata (Rome) is underway.

In 2019-2020, a double diploma program in Pirogov Medical University was announced for:

• General medicine (6 years)
• Bachelor degree in Biology (4 years).

Course exams for students are held at Pirogov University and at partner universities. Form of exams - by agreement of the parties. Assessment of progress on the program of the partner University is carried out by representatives of the partner university, and on the program of the Pirogov University - employees Pirogov University.

The step-by-step successful implementation of both programs, the successful passing of course exams will allow students, after completing of study, to have the opportunity to take exams to receive both a diploma of higher education of the Russian Federation and a diploma of higher education of the European Union.
